What a GREAT turnout and clinic in Stockbridge, Sept. 29th; over 270 kids and a 100 parents showed up for the first Atlanta Falcons Youth Football Clinic of the Fall at Austin Road Middle School! NFL Alumni coached the kids through both offensive and defensive drills — as well as proper tackling technique– on the field, and shared our Game Changer message about excellence, integrity, perseverance and teamwork with the group.
The Kids & Pros Coaching Team included:
- Bobby Butler (Atlanta Falcons)
- Evan Cooper (Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons)
- Robert Moore (Atlanta Falcons)
- Ken Oxendine (Atlanta Falcons)
Floyd Hodge (Atlanta Falcons)
- Eric Matthews (Green Bay Packers)
Each child that participated received a Falcons t-shirt and the evening of instruction. Over a 100 parents stayed to watch the clinic in progress.
“We brought the boys tonight for extra help and to have a good time–they heard that it was a Falcons camp–so they were super excited! Half of our team is here tonight–our coach scheduled it as an optional practice, and we traveled an hour to be here. We appreciate coaching the boys through proper technique and showing them drills to succeed.”
Dustin Perry, Father, Brooks Bears
“This is the 2nd Year that I’ve done this for my team… we were at the clinic at Drew High School last year. We are going to make this an annual thing– the atmosphere and the competition of being here with other athletes from around the area is so good for the kids. It is a valuable experience– learning more about Heads Up Football, the proper way to hit and how to play tackle football. My team is a 6U team–but when we had to hit for the first time this year, they remembered what they learned at the Falcons camp last year and did great.”
Coach Troy Bailey, 6U Team, Stockbridge Generals
“I loved the messaging the Coaches on the field were sharing with the boys… INTEGRITY (do the right thing), and PERSEVERANCE (never quit) — it is wonderful to hear such positive messaging– it got my attention, too!”
Rhonda Mangin, Brooks Bears
